Youth Novice Pre-competitive Swimming Program - Program begins on 22 September 2025
The Novice Pre-Competitive Swimming Program is a comprehensive eight-level curriculum designed for children who are absolute beginners or have limited experience in swimming. Classes are held once a week. However, those swimmers who would like to enter into the competitive swimming program are encourage to register for two classes per week.
Enrollment for the program is open year-round. It is important to note that while the program aims to enhance children’s comfort and safety in and around water, we encourage registrants to have some prior aquatic experience. Specifically, children should be able to submerge their faces in the water and exhale bubbles.
The primary focus of the program is to teach the fundamental skills of three swimming strokes: Front Crawl, Back Crawl, and Breaststroke, which will facilitate a smooth transition to competitive swimming. Children who intend to enter the competitive swimming program are encouraged to register for two swimming classes per week.
Parents may register their children for any level they deem appropriate. However, before the commencement of the program, each child’s swimming proficiency will be assessed. Based on the expert judgment of the coach, children will be assigned to the most suitable swimming level.
It is important to note that parents are required to complete a health registration form, verifying that their child is in good health and does not possess any physical or mental conditions. Click here.
Children who display excessive emotional reactions in the water, such as crying or pronounced fear, after the assessment, will be withdrawn from the program at the first lesson, at which point a refund will be issued. Please be advised that a processing fee of $35.00 will be deducted from the total registration fee. No refunds will be available after the initial lesson.
Please be advised that the Pre-Competitive Swimming Program is specifically designed for children age 5 and older with no prior swimming experience. On some occasions, even younger children could be registered, but this entirely depends on their maturity level and the opinion of the coach. Children who possess previous swimming skills will undergo an evaluation to ensure placement in the appropriate swimming level. The program applies an individualized approach to each participant to facilitate the attainment of their full swimming potential.
We kindly request that you complete the registration process at your earliest convenience to secure a placement for your child. Please be advised that if capacity is reached, your child will be placed on a waiting list.
