Youth Novice Pre-competitive Levels

Pre-Competitive Level 1

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Children will be acclimatized to the aquatic environment and instructed in the following areas:

  • Procedures for entering and exiting the water.
  • Breath control techniques, thereby cultivating confidence and comfort within the pool setting.
  • Specific exercises designed to achieve buoyancy and float on the water surface will be introduced to the participant.

Pre-Competitive Level 2

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Introduction Back Crawl fundamentals:

  • Floating on back
  • Back crawl kicking

Pre-Competitive Level 3

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Advancement of Back Crawl skills to a higher level and introduction of Front Crawl fundamentals:

  • The participant will be able to swim four pool laps in the Back Crawl
  • Introduction to Front Crawl fundamentals, floating face down, exhaling underwater and engaging in front crawl kicking.

$120 per month

Pre-Competitive Level 4

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Intermediate Back Crawl exam:

  • The participant will be able to swim eight pool laps and will undertake the Back Crawl examination.
  • Advanced Front Crawl fundamental skills
  • The participant will be introduced to Front Crawl arm movement and taking breaths
  • Introduction to the fundamentals of Breast Stroke kicking

$130 per month

Pre-Competitive Level 5

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Developing Front Crawl skills to a higher level:

  • The participant will be able to complete eight Front Crawl laps in kicking
  • Breast Stroke kicking fundamentals introduced

Pre-Competitive Level 6

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Intermediate Front Crawl exam and introduction of Breast Stroke fundamentals:

  • The participant will be able to complete eight Front Crawl laps without stopping and complete the Front Crawl exam
  • The participant is introduced to the coordination of Breast Stroke arms and legs, and using them in a synchronized way

Pre-Competitive Level 7

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Developing Breast Stroke to a higher level:

  • Head position taught
  • Gliding underwater
  • The participant will be able to swim four laps without stopping

$140 per month

Pre-Competitive Level 8

(Classes are held once a week
and their duration is 30 minutes)

Breast Stroke intermediate level exam and Graduating from the Pre-competitive Swimming Program:

  • The participant will be able to swim 8 laps without interruption and complete the Breast Stroke exam
